The inspection verifies to the homeowner that the gas piping has been properly installed so it is air-tight, code compliant and safe.

A: A quality vent-free gas log product properly installed will have no carbon monoxide risk. Vented gas logs do produce carbon monoxide; that is why Gas Code requires dampers to be removed in the installation process.
